Marine Assistance Program

What does the Marine Assistance program provide?

The Marine Assistance program is designed for your safety and convenience, available 24/7, 365 days a year across Canada and the continental United States. Key services include:

  • Boat Tow Referrals: We will guide you to an independent marine towing provider to get your vessel to the nearest marina or repair facility.

  • Fuel Delivery Referrals: If you run out of gas, we will locate a service provider who can deliver an emergency supply of fuel directly to your location.

  • Marina Referrals: We provide directions and contact information for the nearest marina capable of assisting with docking, repairs, or support

How do I request help?

Call 1-833-205-9208 and be prepared to provide your policy number, vessel serial number, and the vessel's current location, a call back number and a brief description of the situation. A licensed operator must be present at the vessel when service is rendered.

Who pays for the actual towing or fuel?

The RecProtect Marine Assistance program is a referral service, it does not assume responsibility for services performed by independent providers. While we handle the logistics of finding help, the policyholder is responsible for all costs associated with towing, labor, docking, and the fuel itself. (Note: If the disablement is caused by a risk already covered under your insurance contract, please contact your broker).

Short Term Rental Coverage

What is the Short Term Rental Network Endorsement?

This endorsement allows you to rent out your trailer to others through an approved professional rental network. It provides coverage during the rental period.

What specific protection does this provide?

This endorsement protects your unit against several risks that may occur during a short-term rental, including:

  • Theft or Vandalism: Coverage for loss or damage caused by a short-term tenant, their employees, or members of their household.

  • Intentional Acts: Protection against damage resulting from criminal or intentional acts by the tenant or their guests.

  • Excess Coverage: This coverage acts as "excess coverage," meaning it applies to losses that exceed any damage deposit paid by the tenant or coverage provided by the Rental Network Company’s own insurance policy.

Which Rental Networks are acceptable?

To ensure you are covered, you must use a professional, approved platform.

  • Acceptable Networks: RVezy and Outdoorsy
  • Unacceptable Networks: General marketplaces such as Facebook Marketplace, Craigslist, or Kijiji.

Note: Using an unapproved site may result in the termination of your insurance coverage.

Are there any eligibility requirements?

Yes, to maintain this coverage, the following conditions must be met:

  • Applicable to both towed and stationary trailers.
  • You must inform us of any rental networks you are using.
  • A maximum of two (2) Shared Units per household can be used on an approved platform.
  • No single rental period can exceed 30 consecutive days.
  • The unit cannot be used for any commercial purpose
